KORACENTER FOR BLACK SEA AND CENTRAL ASIA

EUDIMENSIONS Conference

“Boundaries and Neighbours in a ‘Wider Europe’:

Regional Perspectives on the Everyday Construction of Borders”

5-7 March 2009

University “Alexandru Ioan Cuza” Iasi (Romania),

This conference will take place in Iasi (Romania) and in Chisinau (Moldova), in a border region that exemplifies many of the new tensions that have emerged as a result of more permeable borders, European enlargement and the increasing geopolitical impact of the EU. With this conference, we seek to encourage the development of research perspectives on the EU's external borders. We invite border scholars and practitioners to participate in open and informed debate about these issues and to experience a "new" European borerland as it develops a sense of cross-border regionness.
